OILSKIN
Made for the elements, our oilskin hats bring together the heritage of waxed cotton with generations of Hills Hats craftsmanship.
We use waxed cotton from Halley Stevensons, whose historic Dundee factory has been producing weatherproof textiles since 1864. Together, the two companies bring more than 300 years of combined experience in their respective crafts, blending centuries of textile and hatmaking knowledge into every oilskin hat.
The densely woven cotton is treated with wax for durability and weather resistance, developing a unique character and patina with wear.
Each hat is cut, shaped and finished by hand in New Zealand, continuing our tradition of making headwear built for the outdoors.
